Are You Looking for a School for Your Children?

  • Do you believe that most children possess exceptional ability that is left unharvested?
  • Do you believe that there must be a better way to educate our children?
  • Do you believe that the next generation will be competent to run our country?
  • Do you believe that a school could exist here in Indiana that could teach children to think, write, and calculate better than children in any other country?

There is a group of people who believes these things to be true. They believe them to the extent that they have started a school with a goal to be the best. Not just the best in Indiana, but the best, period.

Have you ever thought about what it would take to be the best? Socrates' students from Fifth Century BC Athens thought he was the best. Moreover, Socrates' close friend, Plato, a teacher at the Academy, the school he founded, had students who thought he was the best. Today, we think of Harvard University, Boston, as the best.

If we had a school where students could speak publicly with articulation and intelligence, and if the students could conjugate Latin verbs and translate Latin texts into English, and could calculate mathematics all the way through calculus, would we think it was the best? If the students studied the Constitution by way of the Federalist Papers (a series of articles published in the newspaper during the drafting of the Constitution) would we think this school a candidate for the best? If the students read a list of Classical Literature known as the Great Books, studied music theory, classical art, and produced plays from the Greek Theatre bringing the audience to tears, how would we feel about this school then?

Walnut Grove Christian Preparatory School
is all of this and more. Started in 1997 with 17 secondary students and three teachers, Walnut Grove has expanded to include all grade levels and is growing steadily.
